A cute Triceratops on top of the armrest of an Ektorp sofa with a custom sofa cover set in Shire Rust by Comfort Works

Everyone knows the Ektorp sofa. Pleated long-skirt, round arms, a classic look. Is it too dated and unfashionable? I say ‘Yes’, but it doesn’t have to be! But first…

But how?

With minimal work, that’s how. Simply obtain a set of customised slipcovers, or sofa covers for the non-US, for your Ektorp sofa. We are unashamedly the best (read: only) option for these custom slipcovers ;)

The covers will arrive at your door in a nice waterproof bag. Inside said bag will be both your covers and the other half of a velcro reel. Replace the loose covers with our tailored slipcovers and flip your sofa on its back. Grab a staple gun and staple the velcro to the underside of your Ektorp, you can adjust the placement of the velcro for a better fit if you wish.

We’ll have a nice video up for you soon on this – but in the mean time, here’s some additional shots of our snug fit Ektorp sofa covers in woollen Shire Rust!

Enough teasing, show us what it looks like

Here it is!

I love this look! We just got the 3 seater Upland. Is this style available for the upland?

      Hey Sarah,

      Congrats on your new Uppland!

The snug-fit style we did for the Ektorp is really a hack; it’s not something that is offered on our website directly. However; if you’re really interested in getting a set made for your Uppland, you may actually get in touch with our agents and they would be happy to personally assist you in getting this custom made. Some additional charges (customization fee) may apply.

Do drop us an email at info@comfortworks.com.au and we’ll get back to you within 1 working day :)

      Hope this helps!

Ps* Is the Uppland every bit as impressive as IKEA promises – with its spring-filled seat cushion upgrade and all?

Hi, I don’t see an option w/o a skirt as pictured. Is that still an option?

    Thanks

      Hi Sam!

Yep, this is still an option but you’ll need to contact us at info@comfortworks.com.au to make this special request as different Ektorp (produced from different periods) sofas have different leg heights – we haven’t quite determined what year of Ektorp would have what heights, so it’s best to contact us directly so we can tell you what to measure to ensure the perfect fit for your short-skirt Ektorp cover :)

      Hope this helps!

I love this hack! Where can I get these legs? I don’t see them on your site?

Do you know what thee height is on the legs in the final photo? Will thee newer options work with the Ektorp?

Hey Jordan! I believe the previous heights were 15cm, which is the standard for most of our newer sofa legs – do check each individual page description to get the exact heights as necessary. All our sofa legs come with the m8 bolt so they’re all compatible with the Ektorp sofa :)

          Hope this helps!

Can you make the Ektorp snug fit for the Ektorp sectional?
