Cool Factor: Slipcovers and sofa are still available in IKEA across the glove. Easy to maintain with easy to remove slipcovers. Highly modular and can be grown and configured in many ways.
Ugh Factor: Few slipcover options available on IKEA, assembly can be a bit confusing especially at the very first step – the rotating bar can be rotated, but a lot of force is needed.

Our Review
The IKEA Soderhamn is a unique yet stylish sofa design. Its thin armrests give it an extra modern and contemporary feel, however the armrest isn’t something you’d want to put your hand or head on. If you want something a little more softer, adding a few extra pillows around the arms would be a great suggestion.
Still, it’s a yes from us! One of the many plus points is that you can always build your own custom sofa set with the modular Soderhamn. Whether to fit in the corner of your living room or as a grand sectional couch sitting in the center, just purchase a few sectional components and it’ll look great.

Hey Steve! The Soderhamn is highly customizable. As long as we have those 2 corner pieces at the corners, you can add as many middle armless pieces! Prices would vary.

I have a Soderhamn corner unit that I want to use as an end piece rather than a true corner. Will the armrest from Ikea work or can I only use the two panels included in the original package?

I am unsure which armrest are you referring to as the “armrest from IKEA” but technically, most IKEA furniture are made to be a set so it’s very likely that the original arms are the best bet for you. :)
You can give IKEA a call or visit to see what they recommend.

I want to replace the inserts of the large pillows and small pillows. Does anyone happen to know the sizes of the pillows?
