Recently IKEA has discontinued its Kramfors sofa range to make way for its new Kivik sofa range.
We were clicking around the net for affordable leather sofas to recommend to our customers, when we found broken links. Panicked, we kept googling for Kramfors, Kramfors, Kramfors a good 7 minutes.
Disappointed, we immediately called IKEA and a customer service representative told us that they no longer carry Kramfors sofas. That was all there is to it. No explanations. No letter as to why. No farewell we-loved-you-too party. Nada.
A 30 minute drive to IKEA later, our fears were being confirmed. Ikea’s Kramfors range has been replaced by a younger woman! named Kivik! Although she was very pretty (and a bit more conservative than Kramfors was), the nerve of not letting us know sooner.
As Ikea lovers streamed in and out of the store in helium happiness- Ikea slipcovers and sofas were on sale (to soften the blow)- we just sat on the remaining Kramfors for the last time, paying our respects.

We do strongly recommend getting some fabric samples firstly, as this would allow you to see, feel, and test out our fabrics in person before making a decision on the fabric. This is essential, since all of our fabrics are our own and we do not carry any of IKEA’s original fabrics.

Unfortunately the only yellow colour we have is our Shire Mustard wool fabric which I’m not a 100% sure whether will be an exact match.

Apr 3, 2015Hi. We bought Kramfors black leather sofa in 2008 from IKEA in Westchester Ohio, USA. At the time we didn’t get corner piece due to finance situation but we got only 2 sides and used them putting side by side. After 3 months time we wanted to get the corner but it was discontinued. How can we get? If could, is gonna be made in Europe and send to USA or where. Do you have one in the USA by any chance. Help us. Wanted to use this web site but there wasn’t similar black leather. Plus will the size be the same. My worry is the size. What if it will be wrong size. Is there standard size only.

You can definitely remove the body if it’s attached to another components (like a chaise section) as the Kramfors is a modular unit. It can be disassembled and reassembled according to the configuration you want to make!
To disassemble your Kramfors sofa, you’ll need to refer to the IKEA Kramfors assembly manual. Here they are;
IKEA Kramfors 3 seater and Chaise
IKEA Kramfors 2 seater
Kramfors Corner Unit
Kramfors footstool
For most of this, you’ll usually only need an Allen key (AKA Allen wrench/hex key).
