The best and most comfortable sleeper sofas of 2023

Whether you’re looking for a space saver in your cosy apartment or simply need to accommodate the occasional guest, sleeper sofas (also known as sofa beds) are the go to choice.

They are the number one way to get the best of both sofa and mattress worlds without having to buy both.

A sofa and bed in one affordable package? Sounds like an amazing idea!

But imagine ordering one online and diving back-first into it only to be greeted by a metal rod pushed into your spine.

Not. Pleasant. How will anyone manage a good night’s sleep on this?

That’s the thing with sleeper sofas – most of them are downright nasty to sleep on. It’s like an identity crisis has resulted in the common sofa bed being both terrible at being a sofa or a bed.

But thankfully, not all of them are designed to deprive you of comfort.

Worry not, we’re here to help you find the sleeper sofa of your dreams with a list of the best and most comfortable sleeper sofas!

How to pick a sleeper sofa

What’s the deal with sleeper sofas and why do so many people hate them?

As it turns out there are many good reasons why most folk who have had the experience of owning a sleeper sofa would swear against getting one.

So before jumping to the sleeper sofa shopping, take a moment to figure out the quirks of these sofa turned beds.

Here are some of the not so obvious but important things you should know when dealing with sleeper sofas.

There are many types of sleeper sofas

When someone mentions sleeper sofas, the first thing that comes to mind is the standard foldout. That’s the one with the nasty metal bar poking into you as you struggle to get a good night sleep.

Fortunately the standard foldout isn’t the only kind of sleeper by a long shot. There are many, ahem, better designed sleepers each with their own quirks.

From daybeds, futons, trundlebeds, murphybeds and many more, the list is huge. So don’t be discouraged if one type of sofa bed didn’t work out and experiment with a different option instead.

Mattress, or sofa, or neither?

Done wrong, sleeper sofas are notorious for being woeful to sleep on. But did you know that you should expect sleeper sofas to be less comfortable than their standalone counterparts?

Unlike a normal sofa, sleepers are far more restrictive in how they can be constructed. There’s simply less real estate to include some of the things that make a sofa a sofa – like spring support.

After all, a bed has to fit in there somewhere.

On the other hand, the mattress will be limited in its thickness and materials. Which means they are often not as comfortable as proper beds either.

So you may want to think twice about using them as the main sofa or bed unless you’re desperate to save space. Instead, they work best as a secondary sofa that happens to have a guest bed.

They are difficult to move and get into the house

One of the first considerations when choosing a sleeper sofa is whether you’re able to get it into the living room.

Fortunately some of the sleeper sofas have been designed to allow disassembly, which allows them to get through narrow stairways.

What’s not so great is that they are far heavier than standard sofas, having parts made out of metal.

How heavy are they? Well, they can reach 220 pounds (100kg) depending on the mechanism used to operate the bed.

So it’s important to think about how to get them into the house and if they will need to be moved once they are set up. Salespeople should be able to give you a better idea on these things.

They aren’t the easiest to maintain

Sleeper sofa maintenance is a big deal, especially since good ones are so expensive. Your kids, and your cat had better not destroy it

But unfortunately, accidents are bound to happen so it’s wise to think ahead.

The most likely part of the sofa to get ruined is the fabric. Claws, stains and drunken guest vomit are the usual culprits.

By design, most sleeper sofas come upholstered so you don’t get to remove the fabric covers and plop them into the wash. That means you’re going to want to pick a really good fabric.

Sunbrella or other performance fabrics are your best bet as they are incredibly hard wearing on top of being water and stain resistant.

These super fabrics are an option commonly available on pricier sleeper sofas to keep them protected. But be prepared to pay from $500 to $1,000 for this premium.

Alternatively, getting a tailored slipcover to protect your sleeper sofa is a good idea and a couple of hundred bucks cheaper. Best part is they are custom fit so you won’t lose those clean sofa lines, and they can be machine washed for easy cleaning.

Got all of that? Good job, you are now ready to pick your dream sleeper sofa! Without further ado, let’s jump right into the best and most comfortable sleeper sofas of 2023:

Best Budget Sleeper Sofa : IKEA Friheten Sectional Sofa

As IKEA’s favourite sleeper sofa, it’s no exaggeration to say that the Friheten may be the most popular (or at least most widely bought) sleeper sofa in the world.

And if you’re looking for an affordable entry-level sleeper sofa, then look no further.

Priced $899 for the 3-seat sleeper sectional, you may be expecting the Friheten to just be a basic sofa bed without the extra sass but that’s not true at all.

In fact, the Friheten has a whole bundle of thoughtful features and delivers a polished experience that’s well beyond what you may expect.

For one, the Friheten’s chaise is actually a storage chaise that can be lifted to stash whatever you want inside. No doubt this was designed for people to keep the bedding that is used with the sofa bed all in one easy to access place.

Other than being highly convenient, the storage chaise also really ties in with the space saving aspect that many people who are looking for sleeper sofas are looking for.

On the topic of convenience, the Friheten is designed with a trundle style pull-out bed that is spring loaded. That means no strength is needed to operate it and can be turned into its sofa bed state as effortlessly as pulling on one of the included folds to make it pop-out.

No kidding, it’s so easy to operate that even using one hand you’d be able to transform it from sofa to sofa bed in under 10 seconds. Pinky promise.

To make things more snazzy, having an easy to pop-out the trundle bed also means you have a ready to go makeshift footstool for whenever you may need it. Just get home, kick back and relax!

What about the comfort? Well, the Friheten isn’t exactly something you’d write home about. It’s decent (for a sleeper sofa) but overall offers a rather firm sit… and sleep.

While that may be great for your aching back, the cushions may never reach the softness that some people are used to even after breaking it in over time. Having a mattress topper at the ready would be a good idea here.

In the end, the Friheten is what it is – a large and convenient sleeper sofa with a price that is hard to argue with.

The fact that it is globally available at IKEAs around the world and can be delivered flat packed means virtually anyone can get one and bring it home, thus making the Friheten the perfect entry-level sleeper sofa for everyone.

PLUS, we’re able to customise slipcovers for your Friheten, according to what you want.

Best Futon Sleeper: Sunrise Coast Futon

[Update Jan 2023] The Sunrise Coast Futon is currently out of stock on Amazon. Prices reflected may not be similar to those found on other sites.

Those who are looking for a simple sleeper sofa that gets the job done may consider the charming Sunrise Coast Futon.

While this futon may not be the most impressive sleeper sofa in town, it is simple, stylish, and works well.

Available on Amazon, the Sunrise Coast is surprisingly modern and chic looking for it’s sub $350 price tag (at the time of writing). It also delivers more comfort than what you’d expect for its price, both as a bed and a sofa.

Though futon-style sleepers don’t look or function very well as the main living room couch, they are particularly useful to those out there who don’t need the full works.

Think of it as the solution to accommodate the infrequent guest. It wouldn’t make sense to go all out on a sleeper sofa that doesn’t see much use.

Simple in both its setup and function, the Sunrise Coast futon can be easily put-together alone (unlike the Friheten) and plonked into the corner of your office, dorm or pretty much anywhere. It’s relatively light for a sleeper sofa at 100lbs (45kg) and only measures 72” (182cm) long.

With someone else to help, it wouldn’t be too difficult to move it about as well.

Adding to the theme of simplicity, this futon can be converted hassle-free into its bed form within seconds. A nifty bonus feature is that you can adjust the recline of the backrest while seated for some lazy lounging.

Ultimately, this sleeper sofa is not going to make anyone green with envy. But if you’re looking for something simple that works without the fuss then it could be for you.

Of course, the most tempting reason to buy it is that it costs even less than half of what it takes to buy a decent fully grown sleeper sofa.

Best Splurge-worthy Sleeper Sofa: American Leather Comfort Series

The closest thing to a proper merger between sofa and bed, American Leather sofa beds are famous in the sleeper sofa world.

They are pretty much the Mercedes of sofa beds and one of the go-tos when you want something top-notch and are willing to pay for it

That means being prepared to pay upwards of $3500 for one of their queen-sized sleepers, and that’s for fabric upholstery.

You can also choose to get their sofas in leather, which will blow a $7000 sized hole in your wallet or more. Yikes.

Perhaps what makes American Leather so special is the amount of customization they offer their customers.

From size, to fabric material, color, and mattress type – you pick it all. Even more impressive is that they have so many sofa styles to choose from to create the perfect sleeper sofa.

Yes, you can even get a full king-size mattress sectional sleeper sofa in hot pink if that’s your thing.

Customization aside, what makes American Leather feel great to sleep on is their patented Tiffany 24/7 system for their sofas. In their own words, this means “no bars, no springs, pure comfort.”

The short of it is that the mattress is supported by a full tri-fold platform that effortlessly folds out of the sofa bed. Jutting metal bars be gone!

The mattresses themselves are true-sized and unfold onto the tri-fold platform. They are secured by zippers which allow you to detach them when it’s time to change the sheets.

Once the sheets are on, the mattress can even be folded back into the sofa with the sheets to be used at the ready.

To make things even comfier, the type of mattress can be specified as well. Though at the moment there are just two options; gel and foam.

Between the two, the gel mattress is more premium and has a softer feel for those who really enjoy treating their guests :)

How is it as a sofa? Also plenty good. The option for down-filled cushions help soften things up for a supportive yet not too firm sit.

The only real negative with American Leather sleepers aside from price is how heavy they are. A queen-sized sleeper can weigh over 250lbs (113kg) which is not something you can move without help.

Despite the weight, it is still possible to set up without destroying your back (and doorframe) as the unit can be taken apart and reassembled for “easy” moving

You can even have the parts delivered and set up for you by the various handymen employed by retailers who sell American Leather sofas.

That’s right, retailers. American Leather sleeper sofas unfortunately can’t be ordered online from their main website which is a shame. Though this does increase the number of showrooms that shoppers can visit and test to know that that’s the sleeper they are willing to shell out for.

And that’s definitely something you will want to do when considering a purchase this big.

Best Small Sleeper Sofa:
Room & Board Berin

Room & Board Berin sleeper sofa

The Berin sofa is small. At 72” in its littlest size, the Berin will fit just right in spaces where there isn’t much… space. Just the kind of “apartment-sized” living room that those looking for a sofa bed may have.

What isn’t small however is the Berin’s full size queen mattress. Small sofa, big substance.

One of the more accessible sleeper sofas (both availability and delivery-wise), the Berin can be found at one of the many Room & Board showrooms. You can even pop in to test it out yourself!

Room & Board in general specialize in creating gorgeous high quality furniture and the Berin is no different. It’s modern with sleek lines and has plenty of customization options that R&B are known for.

Except this time the sofa isn’t made by R&B at all. Actually, the Berin is manufactured by American Leather, though it is branded under R&B.

Is that a bad thing? Definitely not.

This means that you can enjoy all the same bells and whistles as the American Leather comfort series while getting your sofa from R&B, which is famous for being one of the most customer-centric sofa brands.

Trifold platform, Tiffany 24/7 spring system, mattress zipper-secured to the frame – the whole works are there. Though with the Berin you get far less customization options (there are still lots though).

Pick between an impressive collection of fabrics and the different sofa legs to suit your needs. If you don’t want such a small sofa, you can even get it in many varying sizes, each with a full-sized mattress.

Just don’t be expecting the unparalleled customization that the American Leather sofas have, which some may even find overwhelming.

One thing that may offput some people from the Berin is the fact you there is no option to select the kind of mattress you want. And by default, the mattress that comes with the Berin is firm

It’s made from high density foam after all so be prepared to hunt for a good mattress topper to accommodate those with softer touches.

The sit itself is also on the firmer side but not uncomfortably so. It’s more of a preference kind of thing but don’t take our word for it. Remember that these are both things that can be tested by walking into a showroom and testing it out for yourself.

All in all, the Berin really isn’t too different from American Leather sleepers which means it is a great sleeper sofa. What makes it even better however is that it is sold under Room & Board, which have a reputation for amazing customer care.

From wonderfully trained sales personnel, great return policies, and the option to have the sleeper sofa delivered and set up, it’s hard to see why the Berin shouldn’t be your choice if you’re willing to invest and don’t need the “pimp my sofa” treatment by way of customization.

Bonus – Best Not-A-Sleeper Sofa: Bestar Murphy Bed

Not many are familiar with the futuristic murphy bed despite the fact it provides one of the most complete solutions to the need for a sleeper sofa. That’s why it has been given a spot on this list.

Murphy beds represent a whole category of “beds hidden in furniture” that can be tucked away to save space.

And if you’re looking for a way to reclaim that guestroom space while still providing your guests with sleep-inducing  accommodation, then consider checking out the Bestar Universel Full murphy bed (and yes they did just spell universal like that).

Measuring just 59” long (150cm), the Bestar murphy bed is unassuming. In fact, nobody will notice that it is a bed at all since it is cleverly disguised as a closet.

But with just one pull of the closet handles the bed pops out, revealing a luxurious full sized mattress. Not just any sleeper sofa mattress either, we’re talking about a proper standalone mattress so expect extra comfort.

Or at least it will be that comfortable if you give it a comfy mattress since the mattress itself is purchased separately from the murphy bed.

Not only can you go wild with mattress selection, but also deploy it out of the closet and back in almost effortlessly, with the sheets and pillows at the ready.

To sweeten the pot, there’s little restriction on the mattress used in the Bestar as it fits any full sized mattress. Just as long as the mattress depth is 10 inches or less so it can fold back into the closet.

Perhaps the best reason to use the Bestar is the fact that while folded away, the unit takes up barely any floor space.

That gives you the opportunity to utilize what would be a guest room into anything you want, whether it be a temporary office or a home gym.

And at just $1,259, it is also a much cheaper option compared to the price of a premier sleeper sofa and still gives a sleeping experience beyond anything you’d get on a sofa bed mattress.

Seriously, between the price difference between this American Leather, you would be able to afford a good mattress for the murphy bed, a couch as well, and then some.

One thing that may intimidate buyers however, is the fact that Bestar doesn’t offer assembly services. It is sold on Amazon which is great for logistics but once the boxes arrive on the porch, it will be up to you (and hopefully a friend) to set it up, which could take up to half a day.

But if you don’t mind getting hands-on and can’t justify dishing out for some of the more expensive sleeper options, a murphy bed would be your next best bet.

It is affordable, comfortable and as large as a normal bed. Plus you’ll have the option to select a great standalone couch that you’ll love.

Keeping your sleeper sofa protected and looking new

Finding a good sleeper sofa is an expensive investment – everybody knows that. Practically all of them are upholstered too, which makes spills and stubborn stains a particularly painful heartache to clean.

What’s worse is that splurging for a superfabric like Sunbrella isn’t cheap either. It can quickly add up to a thousand dollars to the final bill.

If only there were a way to keep that swanky new sleeper sofa safe from the terrors from the swathes of kids, pets and drunken guests.

Good news, there is! Introducing bespoke slipcovers:

IKEA Friheten in orange

Ta-da! We’ve just given this Friheten a new look with a set of slipcovers that fits like a dream. It’s hard to believe that these didn’t come with the sofa (which is upholstered).

They’re like the slipcovers you didn’t know existed for your sofa.

To spice things up some more, our covers are even machine washable to minimize the work involved in keeping the sleeper looking pristine, soft and comfy.

We’ve even recently launched a fabric that is tough enough to protect your sofa from pets, all while looking stylish enough for an influencers’ home.

So if you’re living in a household with messy things and messy people, and expect that new sleeper sofa to treated in a way that’s less than respectful; consider getting a sofa cover to protect your sofa.

You can even use them alongside the original sleeper sofa’s fabric to change things up with the colors, all while being more affordable than splurging on the most expensive fabric options for the sofa.

Whatever it is, hope you enjoyed reading this post and are now ready to pick (or make) your dream sleeper sofa. Happy hunting!

The best affordable sofas of 2023

Cheap sofas – people love to hate on them. If you’ve been asking around for recommendations for a “cheap sofa”, you’ve heard the familiar advice of saving up for one that is more expensive.

The sofa is an investment piece that’s meant to last, and grabbing the most affordable option available may mean you’ll need to replace it soon.

Well, yes and no. For one, there will always be a market for budget furniture among the students and renters planning on staying temporarily.

But it’s more than that. In the first place, expensive does not mean good – not by a long shot. You’d be abhorred with some of the materials and construction used by some of the most expensive commercial sofa brands.

Instead, play your cards right and you can walk away with an incredible sofa to last the ages, all without breaking the bank.

Want to find out how? Stick around and learn:

What to look out for when picking cheap couches

How cheap is cheap?:

There comes a point when paying too little for a sofa is a bad idea. How long can you really expect it to last?

IKEA is probably as close to that point as you’d want to get. They may get a lot of flak for being the cheapo brand that doesn’t make “real sofas” like Room & Board or Crate & Barrel does but they don’t deserve the poor reputation. It’s like comparing apples and oranges.

Believe it or not, IKEA is competitive and provides quality furniture for the money. In fact, we have over 10  IKEA sofas in our office have seen… things, and have lasted years without any signs of breaking whatsoever.

Above all, there’s an obvious reason why IKEA is the biggest in the business. They have the scale to manufacture affordable couches that won’t immediately die on you.

So if you’re hoping to find a good couch that’s far cheaper than IKEA, then you might want to consider a thrift store search instead. Chances are that any sofa from an unknown brand selling at that price is not going to last.

It may look and even feel like a great couch at first, but even less than a year down the line you can – and should, expect it to break on you.

Value for money:

More important than the price of the sofa is what you’re getting for the money. That’s when the advice of saving for something more expensive starts to make sense.

There are cheap couches and there are cheap couches. The difference between them boils down to the construction and quality of the materials used. If you know what you’re looking for, you’ll be able to find some really long lasting couches that are comfortably priced under the $1,000 mark.

These factors will be covered when reviewing the couches in this list. So, unless you are already absolutely set on a budget for your new sofa, consider topping it up a little if it means getting the couch that’s right for you.

Alternatives:

Not many consider the option of repairing their old couch rather than buying new, which is a shame especially since older couches tend to have better construction compared to the ones you get now.

So what can be done to give your sofa the pick-up it needs? Well, if the frame and cushions are in good condition but the outside of the couch looks worn-out, consider using a tailor-made slipcover to revive it. This way, you only pay for the fabric instead of an entirely new sofa and upcycle what you already have.

On the other hand, if both the cushions and the couch fabric aren’t up to snuff, then going the upholstery route might be the only option. Of course, upholstery is very expensive but can be worth it to restore well-built couches.

That means at the very least your couch should have a hardwood frame with good joints and quality cushions. There’s no easy way to tell this at a glance but if the couch and cushions are generally very heavy, then these are indicators that hardwood and high-density foam were used in the construction.

Brand:

So where do you start looking for a well made and affordable sofa? Start with the brand. Checking out their reviews as well as the hows and the whys they are able to sell at a low cost will tell you what you’re getting into.

Are their sofas priced cheaply because of poor quality internal components or because they are able to save costs elsewhere? Like by cutting out middlemen.

Having a well-known brand behind your sofa is also the sure way to have some peace of mind after spending a rather hefty amount. The delivery process, warranties and customer support do play a part post-sale since things can easily turn ugly without them.

Once you find a brand that gives you the goodies without the extra markup on “brand premium”, you’ll be able to choose your own sofa from their catalogue, even if the sofa isn’t listed here!

Speaking of lists, let’s finally get into it. Naturally, we’re kicking off with the overall best cheap sofa. Can you guess which it is?

Best Overall Cheap Sofa : IKEA Karlstad

grey karlstad sofa from IKEA

[Update Jan 2023] IKEA Karlstad has been discontinued in many countries. The prices stated may not be the same as the prices found on other sites.

When it comes to the king of commercial budget furniture manufacturers, it’s gotta be IKEA. Was there ever any doubt?

Even within IKEA’s vast catalogue, there’s been a couch that has been the staple cheap sofa for years on end. And rightfully so as well.

Of course, it’s the Karlstad sofa. The same one that was discontinued years ago and brought back by popular demand.

Everybody knows that a sofa from IKEA isn’t meant to last decades but if there was a couch from their lineup that could do it, it would be this one. Heck, even our own Karlstad in the office has stood up to many years of faithful service (since 2017 and counting) – it still even looks good enough for our slipcover photoshoots.

karlstad sofa in white linen slipcovers
Comfort Works’ Karlstad (dressed in pure linen slipcovers)

Best part is that you can have it for $399, or just $349 during some of IKEA’s periodic sales, and boy do you get a great couch for what you pay.

Without turning this into a university lecture, what you need to know is that the number one reason couches wear out, break, or get thrown away is because of the cushions. Nobody wants to sit on saggy cushions and feel the hard, unfeeling frame against the butt.

With the Karlstad this is hardly an issue as the cushions last insanely long. Karlstad cushions use 2.5lbs/cu.ft high-resilience foam, which is crazy considering it is higher than many other more expensive commercial brands which typically use foam around the 1.8 density mark.

Coincidentally not many other brands openly announce their foam density and just state that it is “high”.

Pair that with the fact you can readily change the slipcovers if they wear out from IKEA itself or from third-parties (us) and you’ve got the makings of a couch that will last a very long time.

All while being decently comfy too. It’s got an attentive sit, firm-ish cushions, wide armrests to lean against and lots of space to sprawl out on.

Sure, it’s not plush and “cloudlike” like an overstuffed couch but if you prefer these types of sofas then IKEA’s Ektorp/Uppland might be a better IKEA choice for you.

The only part of the Karlstad that may give out and can’t be fixed is the frame. Like other IKEA couches, the frame is mainly plywood and particleboard, which understandably is what you get on a couch this cheap.

Just keep that in mind not to let your kids use the couch as a trampoline or do anything to put it under unnecessary stress and all will be good with the Karlstad. It could well make it to over a decade or more.

So if you’re looking for quality at basement prices, the Karlstad sofa is the choice for just about anyone – that’s no exaggeration.

Quite literally anyone can get their hands on one considering IKEA is the most international sofa brand and their sofas come flat packed in a box which allows anyone to bring it into the home and set it up.

But if you aren’t feeling the Karlstad, remember that IKEA have many other great couches as well. Just please don’t go for the IKEA Klippan even if it is even cheaper and save yourself from an uncomfortable and quite frankly, fugly couch.

Best Cheap Sectional Sofa :
Rivet Revolve Modern Upholstered Sofa

Rivet Navy blue sectional

Not sure if you’ve noticed, but there are only so few companies who can build good furniture and sell it for cheap. Can as in, are able to.

There are the companies that take advantage of massive scale; or the ones who don’t use showrooms and salespeople so that the savings can be passed onto you. Amazon has both.

If you didn’t know Amazon has their own furniture line then, here’s something you’ll learn today! Their furniture brand line is called Rivet and they make riveting furniture (ok, that was bad).

Anyway, when it comes to affordable sectionals, the Rivet Revolve is one of the best. It’s not the cheapest, but at the $700 price mark, you don’t normally find a couch of this quality.

Remember those particleboard and plywood IKEA sofa frames we talked about? Well, the Rivet Revolve has a solid wood frame so you won’t need to hold your plop-downs on it like what would be wise to do with the Karlstad.

And no, that doesn’t mean it’s ok to treat it like a prop in Wrestlemania.

Comfort levels on this sofa score highly as well. The cushions have this medium-firmness that you can sink into but still get out of easily.

One small caveat is that it doesn’t come with slipcovers which adds another component of the sofa which can be worn out.

That being said, a mid-century piece wouldn’t come with a slipcover on the frame anyway, though they could have included functional zippers on the cushions, which they don’t. Therefore, don’t drop the spaghetti on it or prepare for lots of scrubbing. Though, at the very least least the cushions are reversible to hide these mishaps…

To somewhat make up for the lack of slipcovers, the upholstery on the sofa is a thick polyester fabric which lasts for a very long time (as synthetic materials tend to). On the comfort scale, polyester is not the most comfortable to be sure but is by no means uncomfortable either.

The main “issue” with the Rivet Revolve that might be very particular to some sofa shoppers is that you don’t get to test it out. Amazon doesn’t have showrooms which is why this couch can be found at such a bargain in the first place.

But other than that there’s not much not to like. It’s nifty, compact and overall a great looking sectional with the build quality to match. Plus, it’s even got that mid-century design which is all the rage lately and is versatile enough to fit into many different living spaces.

Plus, Rivet themselves specialize in mid-century furniture in case you ever want to design a mid-century living room around this sofa.

Best Cheap Sleeper Sofa : IKEA Friheten

IKEA Friheten in custom orange slipcovers

As you may have found out the hard way – sofa beds are difficult to sleep on. Expensive too, especially if you want a proper sleeper sofa as opposed to a klick klak or futon.

Not to say those don’t work, but they aren’t a permanent solution unless you rarely need to use them.

To make things even worse, the majority of full-sized sofa beds suck! Lots of metal bars jamming themselves into the back is not my idea of comfort. It shouldn’t be anyones!

But, that’s the thing. Unless you can fork out $3,000 or more from the likes of Room & Board or American Leather, don’t even bother with a sofa bed if you’re looking for something comfy. Good thing there is an alternative!

Introducing the Friheten sofa bed from IKEA – which is not by any means super comfortable to sleep on but is pretty decent with a mattress topper. I’d recommend gel…

And if that small sentence completely puts you off the Friheten then allow me to try justify this.

First off, the Friheten is just $899 – there’s no arguing with that. Being IKEA, you can get it almost anywhere in the world flat packed and bring it home without hassle. A sleeper sofa from more expensive brands will run you hundreds if not thousands more, and you’ll need to deal with the logistics of it all.

As a sleeper sofa, the Friheten is actually better than the vast majority of competitors at that price range. Not just because it doesn’t rely on metal bar support, but also has some thoughtful additions you didn’t know you wanted in a sofa bed.

For instance, the storage chaise that allows you to store any bedding (and that mattress topper I talked about) inside. That way you have the convenience of turning it into bed-mode anytime you want.

Speaking of convenience, the mechanism this sofa uses to transform into bed-mode is as simple as pulling out the trundle at the side, which is spring loaded for maximum ease. Seriously, a child could operate this and turn it from sofa to bed in under 15 seconds.

When you’re not sprawled out on the sofa for sleeping, that trundle compartment can double up as a convenient footstool as well. It really is versatile.

As for the negatives, the Friheten is not as comfortable as a standalone sofa, which is normal since sofa beds rarely are. The cushions are a little firm and take time to break in too.

And that’s all there is for negatives. Overall, you can’t beat how good the Friheten is for an entry level sofa bed. IKEA has been testing iterations of the sleeper sofa since before 2007 and have discontinued so many models, yet the Friheten still remains the same till today.

Coincidence? I think not!

Best Cheap Leather Sofa : Article Timber

gorgeous, cheap leather sofa under $2000

“Oh no… not another IKEA sofa” is what you’d probably say if the best cheap leather sofa was another IKEA couch – and by the way, IKEA does have a pretty good candidate for this (Landskrona/Morabo).

An IKEA sofa here would even make a lot of sense, considering that “leather sofa” and “cheap” pretty much never belong in the same sentence together. That’s why it was a big surprise to find that there’s another brand that deserves your attention. One that sells a real leather couch at a reasonable price

Reasonable as in $1,899, which isn’t “cheap” but is as cheap as you want to go for a leather couch that isn’t faux leather or constructed from leather scraps. That’s where Article’s Timber sofa comes in.

This sofa boasts the some of the classiest looks you would find even among the leather sofas from far bigger brands with its classic mid-century looks and a gorgeous wooden panel to accent the front of the couch.

Not only is it an ace in the looks department, but also has the best leather to match. If full-grain aniline leather means anything to you, you’ll know that this is pretty much the best leather seen on sofas.

That’s the type of leather that doesn’t flake, gets more comfortable over time, and gets even better looking as it patinas. Just make sure you know how to care for it since caring for a full aniline leather sofa is akin to taking care of a white sofa.

For some reason, Article doesn’t offer their Oxford semi-aniline leather on the Timber sofa anymore which would be the far easier option to maintain.

Anyway, if the prospect of amazing leather wasn’t enough to convince you to splurge a little more on a leather sofa, know that it is also really comfy to boot. Down-filled back cushions and firm but slightly squishy seat cushions make it suitable for all your long sitting sessions and couch hangouts.

Even the sit on the sofa is an in-between of lounging and attentive sitting making it a very balanced (read: safe) choice.

The only caveat in all of this, is that you don’t get to test it out yourself. Article is a direct to consumer business with no showrooms and no commissioned salespeople; which is what makes them so competitively priced – we’ve gone over this.

They do however offer an impeccable return policy and free delivery to somewhat offset the inability to try the sofa before making a decision.

Understandably, this won’t be enough for everyone who would never splurge on a big leather couch purchase sight unseen and feel unfelt. Some consolation can be found in that Article is a very popular and growing brand and that the Timber is their second most popular sofa (behind the Sven).

If all of that street-cred still isn’t enough to convince you to part with $1,899, then perhaps consider looking at the $899 IKEA Landskrona instead (called the Morabo in the US).

Check out our Morabo review here.

Whatever your choice, remember to never pick a couch that is upholstered in “genuine leather” or “bonded leather”. Unless you’re ok with your sofa crumbling into a flaky mess in one or two years, that is.

Best Mid-Priced Sofa : Stone & Beam Lauren

Having perused through a whole list of affordably good sofas, you might be wondering what you could get with a small budget boost.

Not like upping it to the Room & Board/Pottery Barn price level, but just slightly above the $1,000 mark. At that budget, you might want to acquaint yourself with the Stone & Beam Lauren sofa.

Surprise, surprise, it’s another Amazon brand!

By now, we’ve gone over what makes Amazon so effective when it comes to selling competitively priced furniture so we can skip past all that. What you should know is that unlike Rivet, Stone & Beam caters to the more contemporary look and offers generally better build quality at slightly higher prices.

Not too much higher though – the Lauren is $1,150 at the time of writing. So what do you get by paying a couple of hundred extra for your sofa? A whole lot apparently, both literally and metaphorically.

What that means is that the Lauren is an absolutely ginormous sofa island on its own. The frame is big, the seating is deep, the cushions are plush… and big. Everything is huge! And that’s without getting into how disproportionately massive the ottoman is (it’s practically a daybed).

Certainly, this is not a couch that’s meant for everyone. But for those who enjoy lounging on oversized furniture, you’ll find the Lauren to be a whole lot above in its construction compared to anything that can be found at IKEA.

The frame is made of hardwood and the fabric on the sofa is their own performance fabric that lets you wipe away water-based spills like liquid off a duck’s back.

While the sofa sits slightly on the stiffer end with it’s weirdly plush but firm cushions, it gets more  comfortable  as it breaks in over time. The down wrapping around the cushions is an added bonus that’s there to add a softer touch while that happens.

Coincidentally, that does mean you need to fluff it occasionally to stop it getting frumpy.

All in all, the question of whether the Lauren is worth $1,150 is a no brainer. You don’t get down cushions, performance fabric or a hardwood frame at this price normally. In that sense, Stone & Beam is kind of like Pottery Barn but cheaper and yet somehow even better quality.

So, if your definition of a cheap sofa can be considered to be something over the thousand dollar price range, the Lauren sofa may be just what you’re looking for. And if it’s too big to fit into your living space (let alone through the door), consider checking out some of Stone & Beam’s other couches, which all have rave reviews!

Oh, but don’t forget that you can’t test their sofas out either… which seems to be the recurring theme for the sofas on this list besides the IKEA options. But hey, you win some and lose some when it comes to buying cheap furniture :)

Get a “brand new couch” on the cheap

Psst… Want to know how you can get a “brand new” couch that’s even cheaper than the ones on this list? Try working with your existing couch and renewing it with a slipcover!

Cheap couches are great and all, plus you can even find some amazing value for the price. But if you don’t need a new sofa why buy one?

As long as the frame and cushions are holding up on your current sofa, you can take it easy on on your wallet by buying a tailor-made slipcover which will fit right over your couch and make it look like it just rolled out of the shop.

The best small sofas of 2023

Choosing your next sofa is a big decision – let no one tell you otherwise. From brand, to material, to the style of sofa, there’s a lot to get right..

Not least of the factors you’ll need to consider when picking your next sofa is how it is going to fit-in with your living space.

“Living space? What living space?” you may ask, looking back at the lack of said real estate in your home.

If this sounds like something that’s all too familiar to your current situation, then this blog post was made just for you!

Here’s a Comfort Works curated list of the best small sofas to fit any space, along with the things you need to think about before ordering that small sofa.

Stick around and discover:

Before diving right into the list, take some time to learn some of the important factors that goes into picking a small sofa. Some of them are pretty obvious… yet many people seem to forget about them and end up with a headache.

Things to look out for when picking a small sofa

Brand

Anyone can find themselves a small sofa, maybe even at incredibly cheap prices. So why shouldn’t you head out and bring home the first one that catches your eye? The main reason is because the quality might not be up to snuff.

If you’re going to buy a sofa then you might as well pick a good one.

When it comes to judging the quality of a sofa, there’s nothing like looking at the brand to know what to expect. It’s your guide to making sure that your sofa won’t break down in a year or two leaving you with a horrible mess.

More importantly, checking the brand will let you know how they are going to get that sofa to you. Is there anything worse than finding the perfect sofa only to discover that it isn’t something that is available to where you’re staying?

How are you getting it in?

If you’re reading this post, there’s a good chance that there isn’t all that much space in the home. Things may be cramped in there preventing you from bringing your favourite new sofa into the living room.

Even if there are no obstructions on the inside, narrow staircases and cramped lifts have ended many a sofa shopper’s hopes and dreams.

To avoid making a costly mistake, always first check whether the sofa can be flat-packed or disassembled. If it can’t then you must be sure that the sofa on its shortest end can be navigated through everything it needs to get through before making the purchase.

Whatever you do, do not buy a sofa assuming the delivery people will handle the logistics of it all.

That’s it? Yup, there wasn’t a lot there but these two things are the most important things to note before pulling the trigger on your purchase!

With that, it’s finally time to delve into the “which”. To save you from hours of research, here’s a list of thoroughly investigated and all around great choices to begin with. There’s a category for whatever sofa you might be hunting for as well to narrow your search.

Starting with:

Best Small IKEA sofa : IKEA Farlov (70″) Loveseat

No sofa list would be complete without featuring at least one entry from the worlds’ most popular sofa brand. So which is it going to be this time?

IKEA being IKEA is no stranger to the demands of sofa-shoppers around the globe. They have something to offer for anyone looking for a couch. Even a sofa that’s clearly designed to be a shelf…

Not sure who is looking for a sofa like this, but here it is anyway

For smaller spaces, you’re spoilt for choice by their impressive catalogue. To single out just one from the list would be difficult, but it would have to be the IKEA Farlov loveseat (70”).

At $799, the Farlov is definitely not the cheapest option out there (for IKEA), and yet is so affordable compared to sofas from more upmarket brands. Come on, it’s an IKEA sofa… treat yourself a little :)

Yet, the first thing you may notice with the Farlov is that it doesn’t look like your ordinary IKEA piece. It’s got a rather expensive look that would do well in a more grown-up living space.

Need some proof? Notice how its banana-like sloped arms and invitingly plush single bench cushion make the Farlov reminiscent of sofas from much more expensive retailers. Coincidentally, the single bench cushion also makes it one of IKEA’s comfiest couches as well with a deep, soft, and loungy sit to it.

But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. After living with this couch for a while, you’ll find out that there are many more ways you can “sit” on the Farlov by using the two mini lumbar pillows that come with it.

Prop it against the back for more attentive seating, or prop it on the low armrests and rest your head on it for a quick cat-nap.

Speaking of napping, the Farlov also shines as a second bed if you can fit on it (it’s much easier if it were the 3 seater version). In fact, the big, plush cushion makes for a better bed than most sofa beds you can find. It’s that great to sleep on.

And if all the 101 ways to use the Farlov haven’t convinced you that this is the IKEA sofa for you, then know that it is incredibly easy to maintain since the entire sofa is slipcovered. Stains and spills can be stopped in their tracks with a quick trip to the washing machine.

The only small caveat in how great all this sounds is that their selection of slipcovers is limited to the safest, most uninspired options. White, grey and black is nice and all, but there’s so much more you could do with a  fancy couch like this.

Putting the right colors on the Farlov could even get it mistaken for something that belongs at Anthropologie:

It’s a bummer, but you can’t have the wildest expectations for a $799 couch and the Farlov already exceeds them. It’s the highly comfortable, feature-rich, small sofa that’s accessible to anyone.

What’s even better is that it comes flat-packed straight from IKEA so you can get it almost anywhere in the world and not have to worry about fitting an entire sofa through the door.

Best Small Leather Sofa : Article Sven 72″

If you’ve stumbled upon some of our other “best sofa” lists, you might have noticed that Article is brought up a lot when it comes to the leather sofa. You just can’t beat the shopping experience, quality, and value that Article offers on their leather sofas.

When it comes to the Sven sofa, you get all of that and more – which is the reason why it’s Article’s most popular couch. Of course, the star of this show is the 2-seater version of the Sven (72” version), which is plenty compact for your compact sofa needs.

Most leather sofa lovers should know that top-grain or full grain leather is the way to go when looking for a leather couch. It lasts exceptionally long if taken care of, doesn’t flake, and wears in beautifully.

The only downside is that it costs big bucks for quality leather… except for when it doesn’t. And with the Sven, you get a gorgeous mid-century couch upholstered in full-grain aniline or semi-aniline leather (basically the best leather) at just $1,699.

If that sounds too good to be true, then in a way it is.

Article has no showrooms or salespeople which allows them to keep the cost of buying their sofas low, which is great. But! You can’t test out their sofas so you’ll have to base your buying decision on online reviews – like this one.

And if you haven’t guessed already, this couch is here for a reason! Not only is it quality at a great price (not to mention classy as heck), but also scores big points in the comfort department.

This might be one of the most comfy couches out there with it’s down filled, soft but springy cushions that seem to hug you. It’s definitely on the softer side of the couch spectrum, but not extremely so by any means.

Pair that with some tactile tufts and a single bench cushion and you’ve got a very snuggly couch. One that is particularly cosy for napping as well if you can fit between the armrests.

Except for those who really enjoy hard sofas, the only issue anyone might have with the Sven is the maintenance required to keep it looking un-frumpy. It’s got wide cushions with down-filling which is prone to making it look a little sad without the regular fluffing.

The other thing to watch out for is the part that involves bringing the sofa into your home. Even if the Sven may come with its legs unscrewed, it is still a rather big package and thus requires due diligence in making sure it can fit through the doorway or through any other obstacles.

But if none of these are a problem for you, then you’ll find that the delivery and buying experience of the Sven is smooth as butter. Article offers free delivery and can get the Sven to you anywhere if you’re living in the US or Canada.

And in the case you ever need to utilize it, their return policy is absolutely incredible which is what has given so many online shoppers the confidence needed to buy a rather expensive couch like this one completely online.

Best Small Sectional Sofa : Rivet Revolve Modern Upholstered Sofa (80″)

You don’t often find the words “small” and “sectional sofa” in the same sentence. People looking for sectionals usually want something grand and sectionally (now a word) so you can’t go too small with these things.

Thankfully, there’s a sectional that strikes the goldilocks balance between the need to save space and the need for a sectional.

That’s where Rivet (Amazon’s own furniture brand) and their Rivet Revolve sectional comes in. At just under 80” long, the Rivet Revolve is as small as you’d want it to be for a sectional and yet has everything it needs to be the perfect mini L-shaped couch.

Now, we all know that Amazon has the resources to launch a line of competitively priced furniture… it’s freakin Amazon we’re talking about. But still, $722.49 for a couch like this is a steal.

At that price you’d be expecting an entry-level couch that’s on par with IKEA but that’s not the case here. It’s even got a design that looks like it would belong in a rather elegant living room.

Just one look will let you know that this couch means business with it’s mid-century, clean-lined silhouette and tapered wooden legs. Those familiar with Rivet will know they specialize in mid-century furniture so this much is expected.

What is unexpected is how great the build construction is on a couch that’s this affordable. For starters, the frame is completely made of hardwood. Not plywood, not particle board – which is what you’d typically see on IKEA sofas at this price. To make things even more resilient, the couch is upholstered in a thick polyester fabric.

Yes polyester may get a lot of flak, but the truth is polyester is a very common material on the couch because it lasts, which is precisely what you want this time because the couch isn’t slipcovered and the fabric can’t be replaced.

Us at Comfort Works also do not currently make slipcovers for this couch either but based on everything so far, you’d expect the couch fabric to be sticking around for a long time anyway.

Basically, what you can expect from this couch is a frame that doesn’t crack, creak or fall apart as well as upholstery that won’t look sad after just a few years. Comfort levels on this couch are pretty great as well with firm-ish cushions that have some spring.

As for downsides, there is one place where the Rivet Revolve sectional falls short and that is when it comes to the “sectional” part of the “sectional sofa”. It’s ability to function as a sectional couch is bare minimum with no modular parts or add-ons.

The chaise cushion can however be shifted around to whichever of the 3 seats of the sofa it needs to be on, but that’s as far as it goes utility-wise. At the same time, that feature is one of the most important since it leaves you with the option to orient the sofa differently around the living room in your quest to save space.

Also, since this is a small sofa list, the lack of sectional upgrades shouldn’t be an issue anyway – how much could you possibly want to expand this sofa?

Finally, the other less than ideal “issue” with the Rivet Revolve is that like Article, you don’t get to test the sofa out. In true Amazon fashion (remember Rivet is an Amazon brand), you’ll have to order this sofa completely online.

Conveniently and equally amusing is the fact that you do that straight from the Amazon website itself. The Rivet Revolve is listed just like any other everyday product and is ordered just like so, which makes for some of the easiest (and weirdest) couch purchasing experiences.

After ordering, expect it to show up on your doorstep one day in the near future. This time, the delivery people will even bring it into your home (if it can fit) and set it up as well!

Best “Smallest” Sofa : Pottery Barn Basic Loveseat (60.5″)

There comes a point when a sofa is less of a sofa as opposed to one big oversized armchair. The Pottery Barn Basic Slipcovered Loveseat is as close as you’ll want to get to that point because when they say loveseat, they really mean it.

As in, you’d just about fit two persons comfortably on this 60.5” (154cm) sofa.

But other than being able to fit into pretty much anywhere at that size, there’s plenty of other lovable features that makes this more than just “a small sofa”.

Anyone familiar with Pottery Barn will know that their couches are comfy – this one is no different. Overstuffed round arm couches are some of the safest, tried and tested designs which have been around for centuries. It’s got that cloud-like feel that lets you sink into the couch and get comfy.

Because of how popular this type of couch is, almost every big sofa brand has one of these in their lineup, though most will agree that PB is the brand that’s most famous for the look and feel of this sofa type.

That gets it used as a benchmark against other round arm sofas a lot. So how does it stack up to its competition? Well, it’s significantly more comfortable than its biggest and most compared to rival, the IKEA Ektorp. That’s for sure.

Maybe not three to four times more comfortable than the Ektorp like the price is, but at least 25% more comfy. If that doesn’t sound like a lot remember that the PB Basic also has better build quality than IKEA.

It’s what’s on the inside that matters :)

On the other hand, those who really know Pottery Barn will also know that you should expect to pay a premium for the PB brand name as well, so there’s that. Arguably the name doesn’t do much for you except make some of your friends drool with envy…

The thing that Pottery Barn does get right however, is to create set-it and forget-it couches that will have no problems fitting into your home. Not space-wise in this case, but as a sofa that you’ll want to live with for the foreseeable future.

It is comfy enough so you won’t have any complaints, has a slipcover to make maintenance a breeze, and unlike IKEA offers all the fabrics you could want to create the look that you want in the home.

If there somehow weren’t enough choices, you could also order a hand-crafted slipcover for the PB basic loveseat from us … just sayin.

So, if budget is not the most pressing of issues and you’re looking for the classic grown-up option that “just works ” then the extra you pay for this sofa will be well worth it. Plus, it deserves additional points for being the smallest loveseat on this list.

Best Small Sleeper Sofa :
Room & Board Berin (70″)

small sleeper sofa with mattress
Image Credit : Room & Board

Many of you in search of a small sofa due to having too little room in the house may already be well-acquainted with the sofa-bed.

A bed and a sofa combined into one convenient space-saving package? Makes sense! Until you discover how terribly uncomfortable they are that is. And that’s both as a bed and a sofa….

Apparently, space constraints are a problem faced by sofa makers as well. Especially when they need to squeeze a bed into a sofa, often at the cost of other important components like spring support.

But the good news is that there is a small sofa bed good enough to deserve a spot on this list – both as a sofa and a bed.

Introducing Room & Board’s Berin Sleeper sofa. It’s small, comfy and easy to bring into the home. It’s pretty much perfect… if you’re willing to invest close to $3,000 for a great sofa that is.

The Berin can be found in a range of sizes, but the 70” version would be the most appropriate for this small sofa list. But no matter the size, the Berin houses a full-sized mattress which can be popped out and ready to go at a moment’s notice, which is no exaggeration.

The best thing about the Berin is how much attention to detail went into creating the best “sofa-bed experience”. The immediately noticeable difference when plonking on the mattress is that it uses the patented Tiffany 24/7 platform system that is signature to American Leather sleeper sofas.

For those who don’t know, American Leather is famous in the sleeper sofa world and are also the makers of the Berin for Room & Board’s catalogue.

So why is this special system great? For starters it means the mattress folds out onto a tri-fold platform. In English that means no bars that dig into you as you try to get a decent sleep.

To make things  that much more sleeper-sofa friendly for you, the mattress is secured to the frame with zippers and can also fold in and out of the sofa with sheets attached. Oh, and it’s also spring operated so that anyone can transform it from sofa to sofabed (and back) in under a minute.

If there was only one downside with how it feels to sleep on, it would be that the mattress is on the firmer side which is not going to be a hit for those softer sleepers. A mattress topper would be a good thing to have at the ready for guests.

As a sofa, the Berin is also plenty comfy but does have one noticeable drawback. You probably won’t be moving it around a whole lot considering it’s a whopping 90kg. Those sofa bed mechanisms sure are heavy.

At the same time in a crazy twist of events, the Berin is also one of the most movable sleeper sofas on the market because it can be disassembled (albeit with difficulty). Realistically, it’s more like extreme difficulty to the point that you’d hire Room & Board to move it for you.

This feature does however make it perfect in the event where a full sized sofa would be impossible to get into your living space. Or if you’re planning on moving soon and want something future-proof.

Other than the price, there’s simply no better alternative for a sleeper sofa that’s actually good at being a sleeper sofa which makes the Berin a worthwhile investment.

It’s got Room & Board behind it as well which pretty much guarantees you’ll have a pleasant customer experience pre-and post sale.

Best Quality & Best Customizable Small Sofa : Simplicity Sofas Brandon (66″)

Not many people looking for a small sofa would have come across Simplicity Sofas despite the fact that they sell furniture practically made for small spaces. That’s how deep this brand was buried, and it’s a shame.

They just don’t seem to get much attention, despite them putting so much attention into creating the best sofas – and that might be an understatement. They will jump through hoops of fire to see you get the sofa of your dreams.

Ok, maybe not that extreme but it’s not everyday you see the owner of a mid sized company take the time to painstakingly reply to reviews, and directly communicate with customers to explain each type of the many foams they offer for the cushions.

One look at the reviews of the company will let you know that Jeff, the owner, does all this.

The sofas that Simplicity Sofas build are testament to this. They are comfortable, made to fit into small spaces, and most importantly: built to last. Their Brandon 66” sofa is no different and is a great choice for those who want the “buy it for life” experience for your sofa.

And for those facing problems with bringing a sofa into the home, be rest assured that the Brandon will be easy to carry inside. It’s the first thing they want you to know when browsing through their website:

homepage of simplicity sofas

Message received Jeff! The sofa will fit into practically ANYWHERE you need to get it to.

The secret behind how compact they can pack their sofas lies in the fact that they are modular by design. You receive the sofa flat packed, with minimal effort required to piece it together.

That’s right, just like IKEA.

But where Simplicity Sofas differs from IKEA is when it comes to the impeccable quality of their couches. The great wall of text on the homepage (right under the picture banner) goes into great detail about this.

Maybe these sofas aren’t as simple as we thought they were

To simplify what this all means, is that each of their sofas have the potential to outlast any readily-available sofa. They use some of the hardest of hardwood for the frame (oak) and 2.5lbs/cu.ft high density foam in their cushions which is way above what you get from the big sofa brands.

When any of the parts break, or in the event of fabric tears, you can even get replacement parts shipped to you since the whole design is modular.

For the Brandon apartment-sized sofa, this all costs just under $1,700, which is an absolute steal. Talk about a mid-priced sofa that outdoes high-end brands any day of the week!

Getting back to the sofa itself – what’s it like to sit on? Well, other than the fact that it has a reasonably attentive sit with a 21” seating depth, the rest of the feeling differs from customer to customer.

Magic sofas? Well no.

You see, Simplicity Sofas offers 3 different types of cushions of varying firmness on top of 200+ fabric choices (including leather). The final feeling of the couch will greatly depend on those things, which is why you’ll want to discuss what’s what with them before placing your order.

For those who want to customize and make their own perfect couch, this is like a dream come true. On the other hand, those looking for the no-hassle “already ready” experience might not appreciate this too much. Especially if they are regular victims of choice paralysis.

Whatever it is, what can’t be denied is the fact that Simplicity Sofas builds sofas like how they used to be built in the old days – you know, before everything became a price war. And yet they are somehow still priced very affordably.

So if you’re not put off by the additional work it takes to design your own sofa, saunter on to their website. It may look dated and not exactly inspire the trust and confidence involved when making a completely online purchase, but that’s probably because they have their priorities set on building some damn good sofas.

Bring your sofa to life with a custom slipcover

Not all sofas you see can be slipcovered, but we believe when they can be – they should be. Just like dressing up for the occasion, the sofa should too!

If you’ve found the perfect new sofa for the home but can’t seem to get it to jive with the rest of your interior, then consider getting a tailor-made slipcover for it.

No one would expect that this is a Stocksund sofa from IKEA

Not only will your new sofa look one of a kind, but will also be protected from stains, dirt  and rambunctious children looking to use it as the next blank canvas! The best part is, if those things do happen, all you will need is a simple trip to the washing machine to banish those problems like they never happened.
