Part of IKEA’s modular range, the Tylosand series is meant to challenge traditional seating and create endless combinations, limited only by your imagination. You are able to put different parts together and create endless rows, or combine two, three, four or more pieces together. This range has been discontinued by IKEA in 2009. There has been a few reviews done on the Tylosand sofa and the sofa bed version.
To summarize, this entire sofa flat packs (so there is no problem getting it in the door) and comes with removable, washable, changeable covers (covers available from Comfort Works). It is *extremely* comfortable for lying down on to watch TV and also for sleeping. It’s also quite stylish from the back, which is important if you don’t have it up against the wall.It is pleasing to the eye, works well around corners and sits comfortably. For the tylosand sofa bed, it is a full double bed that isn’t a pullout (probably need two people to sort it out. The two major cons are that it’s uncomfortable to sit on without a lot of support pillows and it’s cushions are rumored to sag. It’s good to know IKEA warrants all their sofas with a 10 year structural guarantee.
